IPL Hair Removal
IPL (Intense Pulse Light) hair removal is a method of removing unwanted hair by way of light pulses that destroy hair follicles and inhibit new hair growth. The light pulses cover a large area at one time and travel safely through the skin to target the hair follicles. This service is most effective when your hair is in its growth stage, so multiple treatments reach the most hair follicles at different stages of growth.
IPL treatment is safe and effective for most, but a consultation with our professional will ensure that you are a good candidate for this treatment. Hair removal can be done on just about every part of your body. Typically 4 to 6 treatments with the device will disrupt the hair follicles enough to stop most, if not all growth. The skin in the treated areas remains undamaged by the light, furthermore IPL is virtually pain-free.
Why IPL?:
IPL is a superior choice to many other forms of hair removal because it addresses the root cause of hair growth and destroys the follicles to the point that they can no longer produce hair. It is more comfortable than most hair removal modals, and is just as effective and safe, if not more so.
General Procedure:
A thorough consultation will be done prior to your service to ensure you are a good candidate for IPL, provide you with treatment expectations, and instructions to prepare you for your first treatment. Our professional will clean the indicated area fully as a preparation step. A gel will be applied to that area, and a handheld device will be utilized to treat the area of concern. During the procedure, each pulse can cause a pinching sensation. Some relate it to feeling similar to an elastic band being snapped against the skin.
Recovery:
There is virtually no down time, and clients can return to their normal activities whilst following their post treatment instructions. Some redness or pinking of the skin, as well as a light stinging sensation for between 4 to 8 hours can occur. Some experience mild swelling or itching. It is important to avoid hot baths/showers, aerobic exercise, massage, harsh cleansers, chemicals, and sun exposure.
